jamming proved itself to be liberating, yet again. :)

an awesome practice session at the basement of trotter house with the whole dingy set up to catalyze our morphing into rock stars. ha. wow, what a mouthful.

but yea. terence quah's here for the weekend, and once again, camaraderie proved its worth. what a night.

life.

if I could just see you
everything will be alright
if I'd see you
the darkness will turn to light
and I will walk on water
and you will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost into your eyes
and everything will be alright
and everything will be alright

a crazy week. lifehouse at Clutch Cargo's just blew me away. totally in love with their song "Storm" now. and inspired to go further into the land of strings :D awesome, awesome acoustics.

learning to let go, for real. and let God, now. :) i can't wait to get home to check out how things have changed for the better. excited. and pretty excited that i'd finally be graduating in a month's time. it seems like it's been a long time, in a foreign land. but the time's finally coming.

well, somehow dsta's not in the mood of being lenient with their graduate program approvals for me, having rejected almost all of the programs i've planned for. and having approved some of those courses for others. a situation of despair? i want to choose not to be bitter, because i know the plans God has for me, plans for a future and a hope, plans to prosper me and not to harm me. so in spite of this seeming contradiction, right now, i choose to believe. that my path has been made straight. that my path is the path that shines ever brighter unto the glorious day. that my path has been walked into and declared good. that through the death, burial and resurrection of Christ comes upon me eternal righteousness. that God sent His only son in the act of great mercy magnified on the cross where God's perfect justice and God's perfect love met. that if God is for me, who can be against me?

you guessed it. the last part's a Happy belated Easter post. :)

somehow.

hilarious. :)

w00t!

Use it as an interjection or a celebratory statement! As in...'Hey! I just upgraded my 56k modem to 1.1 SDSL. w00t! w00t!'. Works every time. True it's an independent clause, but really the best clauses are always independent. w00t.

w00t belongs to gamers the world over. It seems to have been derived from the obselete 'whoot' which essentially is another way to say 'hoot' which itself is a shout or derisive laugh. But others maintain that w00t is the sound several players make while jumping like bunnies in Quake III. Still others want you to believe that it comes from the phrase 'wow loot' used in multiplayer RPGs many moons ago. And if you can believe it some folks even think it was derived from the gaming phrase, 'We Own the Other Team!' Fiction or fact? I suppose you'll just have to decide what 'w00t!' means to you...

peace.

"i lift my hands, i lift my worship to You now..."

:) finance exam tomorrow.

and i've got to start on my applications to London, and perhaps Michigan.

thoughts just running through my mind right now. been a rather unsettling week, wrestling with questions on plans.

just peace now. just peace. surpass my understanding.

trust.

Psalm 50:10
10For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.

There is a portion that God gives to you which no man can touch because it has your name on it — “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven.” (John 3:27)

Thank You, for my portion. :)

reminisce.

walking out of the eecs atrium lab, right into the dB cafe. that $1.00 donut and coffee combo. :) definitely brings back memories of the semesters i've had at the U. the staple donut and coffee that i'd have every morning. wow. :) that's some time ago. those late nights. 2-pots-of-black-coffee. cans of NOS. you'd think i was running on drugs.

yet even the toughest memories allow reminiscence. so i can look back and smile. and remember. and cherish. the good times and the bad times. yes, even those times. :) so that i can look back, and see how Christ is magnified over and over again. yes even in the midst of my enemies. i see His deliverance. :)

cancun. :)

and so Windows Live Writer works. apparently. :) really cool. i wonder how these computer science majors do it sometimes.

Cancun was amazing. besides the usual partying that goes on during spring break, i'd say we all got a rather cultural experience visiting two Mayan ruins--Coba and the new 7th wonder: Chichen Itza :D

Amazing.

and there's a mystery concerning the Mayan calendar too. 2012 june-ish (if i recall) will be when the Mayan calendar (lasting 5215 years) ends. and when it ends, the planets will be in line, with the Chichen Itza along the axis, pointing toward the Milky Way, which will be, at this time, orthogonal to this projection: forming a huge cross. unbelievable?
or so the Mayan guide told us. These Mayan astronomers were pretty accurate too.

bringing this to mind:

Colossians 1:15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

********
it was interesting that I was actually listening to a John Piper sermon expounding on the supremacy of Christ on the way to Cancun, MX. and it was so apt at this point when this verse came to mind. For friends who are still wrestling with the seeming conflict of how an omnipotent, kind, just God could allow suffering, sin in the world, this article/sermon might help provide an explanation. For even sin, John Piper argues, in the end serves to glorify Christ and increase the gladness of the people in Him. All things were created by him and through him and for him. Even your worst supernatural enemies.

In the end, it was they—not Christ—who were shamed at the cross (Colossians 2:15).

God is not the one playing catch-up, folks. In Christ, you are safe. :)
