kobe steak and dimsum

and so we had an excellent christmas eve dinner at Kobe Steak House, right by the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Entertainment was provided by the master chef and the sukiyaki beef was just cooked to perfection. We started the evening with a round of hot sake, and the shrimp appetizers were just amazingly juicy. We ended the night hanging out and counting down to Christmas at Kianleong's hotel room, not forgetting the amusing val-wears-a-coconut-bikini episode and the (extremely) bad champagne/pineapple wine. (ugh)

the day after started slow but once we eased ourselves out of bed, it was much much better. traveled to chinatown and ate a lot of dimsum (you have no idea). dimsum at hawaii's chinatown was going for $1.69 (any plate), so we just ingested copious amounts of har kau, siew mai, turnip cake, cheong fun and the like.

back from a hike to the top of Diamond Head, one of the craters of Oahu, overlooking the ocean. pure magnificence :)
