1 Cor 18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:
“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
------------------------------------
What sense does it make to all?
the message of the cross is the power of God.
that Jesus took your sickness so that you have every right to be healed.
that Jesus took your inadequacy so that you have every right to hit the mark.
that Jesus took your poverty so that you have every right to be rich.
that Jesus took all your curse so that you have every right to be blessed.
that Jesus took all your bondages so that you have every right to be FREE.
that Jesus took your sin so that you might be the righteousness of God in Christ.
2 Cor 18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
the focus is on Christ and the finished work, and NOT on working on your inadequacies, on your attitudes. Not ever. For Christ did not come to die for us so that He might introduce more laws. He came to fulfil, and He has. But we all, with unveiled face, we will be transformed into the same image of Christ always from glory to glory. How? I don't know. It's God's way, not the ways of Man. That just by beholding the glory of Jesus and the cross, you end up walking more and more on the path of the righteous. That's why it's foolishness to those who are perishing but to me, it is the power of God.
Stop mixing law and grace. Preach the person of grace, and everything will line up.
