Arsenal became the first team to win the FA Cup on penalties this afternoon. Patrick Vieira scored the decisive kick after Jens Lehmann had saved Paul Scholes' effort to finish a pulsating clash that saw Jose Antonio Reyes become only the second player to be sent off in the final. Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy both hit the post and Rio Ferdinand had a goal disallowed as United dominated but they failed to take their chances.
